Our Wedding

It all started in early 2022, when Taylor was working remotely and living at her parents house in South Carolina, and Cam had just been traded to the South Carolina Stingrays ECHL team. Taylor noticed on the team social media accounts that Cam had been traded, and so she looked him up on Instagram. It was on his profile that she saw he had both CO and SC in his Instagram bio, just like Taylor, along with many mutual connections. She followed him, and later that same night, Cam followed her back, sending her a dm. From there they planned to go on a dinner date to meet in person. On March 9th, 2022, Taylor and Cam met for dinner at Long Island Cafe, located on the Isle of Palms, where they immediately hit it off. They've been together ever since. Since 2022, they have had many adventures together. They did long distance during their first year together when Cam was playing professional ice hockey in Salt Lake City. Taylor traveled often to visit him! Eventually, Cam retired, and the two have settled down in Denver, CO, but still visit Charleston many times throughout the year, making new memories every visit. During their trip to Charleston, specifically on April 10th, 2026, Cam and Taylor decided to go downtown for a date night, something they always do doing their Charleston visits. There was no set plan, other than they might walk around the park before going to grab dinner. As they were walking through the park, they began reminiscing on the joy their relationship brings them, until Cam stopped walking, and got down on one knee to ask the question. The two live their lives and their relationship with Christ at the center. They walk with their faith in God and love for one another every day and plan to carry that into their marriage.

Located within the resort gates on the Isle of Palms, only 0.9 miles from the reception venue. While we don't have a hotel block with them, Wild Dunes Resort offers hotel rooms, condos, and beach house rentals through their website. Highly recommend this spot if you are bringing the family for a vacation!

If you're looking to book a house as a larger group, the Isle of Palms would be our recommendation if you are looking to stay local. Isle of Palms: Our personal favorite place to stay in the Charleston area, and Taylor's family has a home on the island! Isle of Palms has many housing options for larger groups, including beach front rentals. We highly recommend if you are looking for a beach vacation. On IOP, Wild Dunes Resort is home to two Tom-Fazio designed golf courses and are open to the public for tee-times. Golf carts and/or bikes are a well-known form of travel around IOP, and we highly recommend renting some if you are staying in a house! Please note, golf carts are not allowed to be driven after sundown or driven on the main road (Palm Blvd.) unless they are street legal. If you choose to rent a golf cart, please operate it responsibly (no drinking and driving, wear seatbelts if they are available, etc.). Other fun areas on IOP include Front Beach (home to restaurants, beach bars, and shops), IOP Marina, Islander 71 (our favorite beach bar and restaurant), and Coastal Crust in Wild Dunes Resort. These hotels are located in the heart of Downtown Charleston, roughly a 0.5 walk or car ride to the ceremony church location, and a 25 - 30 minute car ride to the reception venue. We highly suggest looking into these hotels if you are looking for a charming, historical, Charleston-filled weekend!
